On November 27, 2025, the 26th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) was held at the Mita Conference Hall. From Japan, participants included Ms. ONODA Kimi, Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, Dr. UESAKA Mitsuru, Chairperson of the Japan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), Mr. NAOI Yosuke and Dr. YOSHIHASHI Sachiko, Commissioners of JAEC, and Dr. TSUNETO Akira, Deputy Director-General for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, the Cabinet Office. Participating countries included Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. After a video message from OECD/NEA Director-General William D. Magwood, IV, a keynote speech from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, and reports on the status of nuclear energy policies from participating countries, thorough discussions were held. The Joint Communique confirmed the commitment to promote research activities and information exchange across a wide range of fields in the coming year and beyond.
