Dr. YOSHIHASHI, Sachiko

Commissioner, Atomic Energy Commission

Dr. YOSHIHASHI, Sachiko, has been appointed as a commissioner of the Japan Atomic Energy Commission in June 2025.

She currently teaches as a professor at the Nuclear Fuel Management Facility of Nagoya University.

She obtained her Ph.D. (2006) of Engineering from the University of Osaka. She is working on the development of an accelerator-based neutron source, which will be useful in boron neutron capture therapy for cancer treatment and in fusion reactor development. She has also embarked on radiation biology and has a wide range of research activities in the nuclear field. She is considering ways to promote the development of young people and other diverse human resources in the nuclear field.
