原子力局

　さきに３月７日付の別記のような書簡をもって、英国原子力公社（Ｕ．Ｋ．Atomic Energy Authority）から、日英両国における原子力関係公開資料を交換したい旨の申入れがあった。

　従来、米国における公開資料は種々の形で比較的容易に多数のものを利用し得たのであるが、英国の原子力関係資料は数少なくいろいろの点で不便を感じていたところであった。当局としてはもちろんこの申入れに賛成の旨回答しておいたところ、このほど別記目録の資料がその第１回分として送られてきた。これらの資料は英国原子力公社で作成されたもののうち公開の資料であるが、英国においては政府関係原子力機関にのみ配布されているものである。また、この中には雑誌などには未発表のものも含まれており、これらの転載、引用については著者の承諾を要することになっている。

　この資料交換は今後とも継続して行われるものであるが、わが国から発送すべき資料については原子力局で取りまとめるべく目下関係方面に資料提出方をお願いしているところである。

　なお、英国資料は原子力局において保管するが、その目録は本誌を通じてお知らせすることとしたい。

　本稿締切後、第２回分、第３回分資料があいついで送られてきたので、これら資料の目録も追加記載した。

　　I understand from your letter of February 15th to Sir J. Cockcroft that an Atomic Energy Commission has now been established in Japan. I have been instructed by the U.K. Atomic Energy Authority to propose an exchange of unclassified reports between the Authority and the Japanese Commission and I should be grateful if you could let me know to whom in the Commission this proposal should be addressed.
